Job summary

Serco in the United Kingdom is seeking an Engineering Technician and Trainer for RAF Brize Norton to maintain aviation equipment and deliver specialist training. You will calibrate equipment, manage altimeters, and provide EWIS training to customers and colleagues, ensuring compliance and high standards.

The role requires BPSS clearance and emphasizes accurate record-keeping, safety, and operational readiness across critical systems and training delivery.

Qualifications

• Engineering or aviation qualification required (BTEC/ONC/NVQ3 or military equivalent).
• Experience in aviation industry and airworthiness context preferred.
• Proficiency in risk management, human factors and error management.
• Strong PC skills with Excel/Word and clear communication for training.

Responsibilities

• Control, test and calibrate MOD test equipment per Air publications and manuals.
• Maintain altimeters and ensure airworthiness records and compliance.
• Deliver EWIS and training presentations to customers and colleagues.
• Act as EWIS training expert, providing clear guidance and support.
• Support Altimeter Bay and EWIS areas to maintain continuity.
• Ensure work is certified, recorded and retained for audits.
