About the role:
Everest Insurance, a member of the Everest Group is looking for a Aviation Claims Adjuster to join our growing Claims Team in London. Working with the Head of Aviation Claims UK&I, the individual will investigate, evaluate and resolve attritional and follow aviation claims underwritten from the UK on our Company platform. In addition, they will assist with the oversight of third-party administrators (TPA's), adjusters, lawyers and other external experts. The individual will contribute across the organisation by providing input, to underwriters and actuaries, assist in onboarding and stewardship meetings with customers and influences operations.
Everest underwrite various classes of aviation business and the successful candidate will have the opportunity to develop technical skills to all losses.
This position is based in our London office with a hybrid schedule that has the option of working two days remotely each week.
Key Responsibilities include but not limited to:
- Review and analyse adjuster reports and prepare appropriate notes, emails, and work collaboratively with underwriters and claims colleagues to support reporting claim trends and data analysis
- Review, analyse, and comment claims including damages, subrogation and recovery
- Assist in the management of outside lawyers
- Assist in the management of independent vendors (loss adjusters, TPAs, lawyers)
- Preparation of summary notes related to claims and effective communication to key stakeholders of losses above authority levels
- Timely and appropriate setting of claim reserves with authority and under supervision
- Assist in claim reviews and claims audits under supervision
- Effective communication and collaboration with internal stakeholders (Claims Leadership, Underwriters, and Finance), and externally with, co-insurers, brokers, TPAs, and vendors
Requirements:- Experienced in handling Aviation claims and an understanding of jurisdictional laws and regulations
- Experience within the London Insurance market.
- Good working understanding of London Market claims systems (ECF, IMR, Trax)
- Ability to evaluate coverage issues involving a wide variety of loss scenarios
- Ability to work with others and resolve straight forward claims
- An understanding of the litigation, arbitration, and trial process
- Ability to use relevant data and metrics to best manage claims
- General knowledge of the insurance industry, claims process and legal and regulatory environment
- Good analytical and organisational skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to think strategically
- Self-directed and organised
- Collaborative mind-set and willingness to work with people outside immediate reporting hierarchy to help improve processes and generate optimal departmental efficiency
- Ability and willingness to assist in presenting to management and to others in other group settings
- Degree educated professional is preferrable
