AV Installation Engineer

As one of the highly recognised systems integrators in the UK, we design, supply and install audio, television, lighting, data and Wi-Fi networks and other bespoke technology into a fully integrated and easy to use solution. Our projects range from high-end private homes to multi-dwelling residential developments and commercial settings. Operating primarily in the Southeast, we work with renowned architects, designers and construction professionals.

Our recently launched Smart Home Garden Show Space expands on our core multi-room showroom, both of which hold multiple awards from both UK and internationally bodies and manufacturers.

Job Summary:

We are growing our team and are on the lookout for a skilled and enthusiastic Installation Engineer who’s ready to build a long-term career.

We are seeking someone who is experienced, proactive, and eager to be part of a close-knit, hardworking team. The ideal candidate will be down-to-earth, reliable, and great with people.

Operating from our showroom and offices in Tenterden, Kent, we deliver high-end projects primarily across the Southeast, with occasional work in Europe.

This hands-on role involves the installation and commissioning of both residential and commercial systems, including home automation and control systems, lighting control, multi-room audio, home cinema builds, and security solutions.

Responsibilities:

Essential Functions:

  1. Understanding of programming and installation of home automation systems, including Control4 and Lutron.
  2. Installation and commissioning of Smart Home, Home Cinema, Audio Visual, Networking, CCTV and Outdoor AV equipment.
  3. Construction and build out of cinema rooms and media room solutions systems, such as fabric tracking, LED lighting and baffle walls.
  4. Installation, termination and testing of infrastructure cabling for Data, Coaxial and Fibre cables.
  5. Maintenance and service of AV systems.
  6. Understanding and interpretation of AV schematics, construction drawings such as floorplans and system documentation operational/product manuals.
  7. Provide training and handovers on-site to the end user.
  8. Understanding of Comms Rack builds and common standards.
  9. Service calls and methodical fault finding, troubleshooting and resolution.
  10. Uses hand and power tools safely.
  11. Travels to job sites via company vehicles or public transport.
  12. Maintains company-issued tools, equipment, and vehicles.
  13. Interacts with clients, builders, designers, architects, and other industry professionals.
  14. Completion and submission of required paperwork.
  15. Commitment to safe working practices and maintaining Health and Safety requirements, and maintain a clean, tidy working environment.
  16. Attend training courses, as necessary.
  17. To become fully conversant with all areas of the business and office procedures.
  18. To be flexible in order to undertake the many different areas of work that are required, such as project work, producing reports, assistance with wider teams within the business.

  15. Capable of sitting, standing, and kneeling for extended periods of time.
  16. Motivated to learn new technologies and processes.

Education & Experience:

  1. Previous experience in a similar role required.
  2. Basic understanding of construction phases and roles.
  3. Previous experience in systems integration.
  4. Proficiency in MS Office with expertise in Microsoft Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel required.
  5. Industry recognized (CEDIA, AVIXA, manufacturer, etc.) credentials.

Job Package:

Full-time position.

Contracted Hours:

Monday – Friday 8:00am – 5:30pm
