Job summary

The Newcastle upon Tyne Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a highly motivated Autopsy Pathologist to join our team, specialising in autopsy pathology within a large, regional service.

The post offers opportunities for teaching, training and research, with involvement in regional coroner work and continuing professional development.

You will work with consultants and advanced practitioners across multiple sites, using modern imaging and histology facilities to support HM Coroner activity.

Qualifications

• Registered medical practitioner and Specialist Register eligibility within six months.
• FRCPath or equivalent qualification preferred.
• Academic collaboration and postgraduate teaching opportunities available.

Responsibilities

• Specialise in Autopsy Pathology as a major component of the role.
• Participate in teaching, audit, QA, CPD and research.
• Contribute to training trainee medical staff and supervision.
• Engage in regional coroner work and diagnostic pathology duties.
