Job summary

Wayve in Leonberg is seeking a System Test Automation Engineer to own automated verification for a defined area of our embedded software stack. You will build robust test automation, drive root-cause analysis across hardware and software, and raise coverage, reliability and traceability in a hands-on delivery role.

The role spans system and component testing, HiL replay, and CI/CD integrated workflows with tools like dSPACE, Vector, and JAMA.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience with system-level verification and validation in robotics, embedded software, or mechatronic systems.
• Experience with L2+ hands-off, L3, or L4 automated driving systems.
• Knowledge of safety protocols and automotive testing standards.
• Experience with HiL testing tooling and relevant interfaces.
• Strong Python automation and pytest experience.
• Proven interface-level testing across hardware/software interactions.
• Experience integrating software QA tools and standards.
• Knowledge of CI/CD and test automation dashboards.

Responsibilities

• Develop automation for system functionality tests across software and hardware boundaries.
• Automate open-loop and closed-loop replay-based tests and fault-injection tests.
• Lead root-cause investigations for failures found during test campaigns.
• Optimise CI/CD integrated test workflows for rapid, reliable execution.
• Integrate third-party verification tools and manage artefacts.
• Define and track KPIs and quality metrics for system testing.
• Identify and implement infrastructure improvements to enhance test coverage.
• Review and adhere to risk assessments for safe testing activities.
