Job summary

North Cheshire and Mersey NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a Band 5 nurse (adult or paediatric trained) to join the Urgent Treatment Centre team. You will provide high quality care and information to patients, with training to autonomous practitioner within 12–18 months of completing clinical competencies.

The service treats minor injuries and ailments 365 days a year, open 8am–9pm, and aims to promote effective multidisciplinary teamwork.

Responsibilities

• Assess, plan and implement treatment plans using evidence-based nursing care.
• Acts as an autonomous practitioner within agreed protocols guided by organisational policies and within scope of professional practice.
• Works under indirect supervision in the provision of care to clients, accessing the knowledge and skills of the team leader as required.
• Act as a mentor to pre and post registration nurses, allied health professional and unqualified students.
• The post holder should demonstrate flexibility and be able to work across a range of shift patterns.
• Participates in the education, development and line management of other staff members.
• Is an effective team player within the interdependent unit, operating flexibly across both units as required and recognising the benefits of the integrated approach.
