Job summary

SYOS Aerospace is seeking a Mechatronics Engineer to design, integrate and validate complex hardware and software for autonomous platforms. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams across countries to bridge mechanical, electrical and embedded software engineering, ensuring performance, safety and compliance.

You'll own subsystem design decisions, tackle integration challenges, and contribute across the lifecycle from concept to field trials, with emphasis on verifiable engineering

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechatronics, Aerospace, Electrical or Computer Systems Engineering or equivalent.
• At least five years' relevant engineering experience in aerospace/robotics/autonomous systems.
• Strong practical experience in mechatronics and embedded systems.
• Solid understanding of hardware/software integration, system-level testing and troubleshooting.
• Experience with autonomous vehicle or autopilot systems (PX4/ArduPilot/ROS 2).

Responsibilities

• Design and integrate mechatronic subsystems across autonomous platforms.
• Select and integrate motors, actuators, drivetrains, and sensors for propulsion and payloads.
• Bridge hardware and software interfaces across subsystems.
• Prototype, test rigs, bench testing, endurance testing and performance characterization.
• Contribute to schematic reviews and PCB design activities for reliable hardware.
• Define subsystem requirements and verification activities; maintain test documentation.
• Support vehicle integration, ground testing and field trials.
• Ensure safety and regulatory compliance with civil aviation and defence standards.
• Maintain hardware configuration baselines and traceability across variants.
• Collaborate with embedded software, systems, propulsion and GNC engineers to resolve challenges.
