Job summary

Modis is seeking an Algorithm Engineer to join a highly capable engineering team in Bristol. You will develop and refine advanced algorithms underpinning Guidance, Navigation and Control across the product lifecycle, collaborating with Simulation & Modelling, Software, Sensors and Validation groups.

The role focuses on solving complex technical challenges, with opportunities to influence next‑generation systems and benefit from excellent benefits.

Qualifications

• Degree or equivalent in Aerospace/Mechanical/Control Engineering, Mathematics, Physics or Computer Science.
• Experience researching/developing algorithms in industrial or research settings.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
• Interest in applying advanced technologies to real-world engineering challenges.

Responsibilities

• Design, analyse and develop advanced algorithms for engineering applications.
• Contribute to Guidance, Navigation and Control solutions.
• Support algorithm development across full lifecycle from concept to in-service.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to integrate algorithms into complex systems.
• Participate in research, modelling and performance analysis.
• Support validation and verification of algorithm performance via simulation and testing.
• Contribute to future technology and product capabilities.
