Job summary

SeeByte Ltd in Edinburgh seeks an Algorithms Engineer to join a multidisciplinary team developing robust algorithms for uncrewed maritime systems. You will model physical systems, perform data fusion, and translate theory into real-world software solutions for SeeByte's customers worldwide.

Qualifications

  • Strong academic background in mathematics, physics, engineering or a related discipline.
  • Good understanding of statistics, linear algebra, probability, optimisation and machine learning techniques.
  • Experience developing algorithms, numerical methods or physical simulations.
  • Proficiency in Python, MATLAB or R for scientific computing and prototyping.
  • Familiarity with Git and collaborative software development practices.
  • Ability to communicate complex technical concepts clearly.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement and test algorithms related to sensor processing, data fusion, path optimisation, scheduling and physical modelling.
  • Build and analyse mathematical models of physical systems, sensors and autonomous behaviours.
  • Assess literature and propose algorithm investigations based on project requirements and budget.
  • Collaborate with software engineers and roboticists to integrate algorithms into products.
  • Contribute to full development lifecycle from prototype to delivery of robust software.
