JMS in Ipswich is seeking a skilled structural engineer to join a busy practice delivering designs that actually get built across apartments, homes, and commercial projects. You’ll own projects, mentor junior staff, and collaborate with clients, architects and contractors to drive proactive design decisions.

With a civil/structural engineering degree and 4+ years UK design experience, you’ll balance ambition with real delivery, communicating clearly and taking ownership of your work.

Qualifications

• Degree in civil or structural engineering, ideally working toward Chartership.
• Minimum 4+ years UK design experience on multi-material structures.
• Strong commercial awareness and stakeholder communication.
• Clear, practical communicator who takes ownership.

Responsibilities

• Deliver designs that actually get built across a varied portfolio.
• Collaborate with clients, architects and contractors to shape decisions.
• Lead your own projects and workload with support from experienced engineers.
• Apply technical judgment to solve problems quickly and avoid paperwork.
