ALS Recruiting Solutions in Leeds seeks an experienced Road Freight Operator to manage European road import or export shipments and ensure end-to-end execution from booking to delivery.

The role emphasizes Brexit procedures, Incoterms, and documentation, with collaboration across international partners to optimize routes and border clearances. A client-facing, deadline-driven position with clear career paths within a global logistics network.

Qualifications

• Proven track record in European road freight forwarding (imports or exports).
• Strong knowledge of post-Brexit customs procedures, Incoterms, transit declarations, and shipping docs.
• Hands-on experience with Freight software (CargoWise, EDI Enterprise or similar).
• Excellent communication and problem-solving under tight cutoffs.

Responsibilities

• Take ownership of European road import or export shipments (FTL, LTL, groupage) from booking to delivery.
• Prepare transit docs (CMRs, T1/T2) and process UK import/export declarations.
• Coordinate with international transport operators, hauliers and partners to track movements and border clearances.
• Act as primary operational contact for key client accounts with real-time shipment updates.
• Oversee road freight costing, approve vendor invoices and manage client billing to protect margin.
