Job summary

Spectrum Community Health CIC’s Health and Justice division is recruiting a primary care nurse for a six-month maternity cover at HMP Haverigg (Category D). The role involves medication rounds, wound care, immunisations, urgent triage, and early custody health assessments, with autonomous decision-making alongside prison staff and partner agencies.

Required: Registered Nurse Level 1 in adult, general or mental health.

Qualifications

• Registered Nurse Level 1 in adult, general or mental health.
• Experience in a complex environment managing deteriorating patients.
• Willingness to train in SystmOne and related health-tech as needed.

Responsibilities

• Deliver primary care, manage medication rounds and run clinics (wound care, immunisations, vaccines).
• Provide urgent triage and ensure access to urgent care pathways.
• Conduct early days in custody assessments for new arrivals and link to care.
