Job summary

Portsmouth Hospitals University NHS Trust is seeking an Occupational Health Nurse Advisor to manage a clinical caseload and provide expert advice to managers and staff. You will join an integrated Occupational Health and Wellbeing Service across Portsmouth Hospitals NHS Trust and Isle of Wight NHS Trust, working across multi-site locations with potential travel between sites.

Qualifications

• Registered Nurse with current NMC registration.
• Post-basic qualification at either diploma or degree level in Occupational Health or relevant subject, or working towards.
• Experience with occupational health legislation and best practice."
• Ability to manage a varied and complex clinical caseload and prioritise effectively.

Responsibilities

• Undertake management referrals and self-referral occupational health assessments.
• Provide evidence-based advice on fitness for work, absence management, and workplace adjustments.
• Deliver health surveillance programmes and vaccination services.
• Complete pre-employment screening and immunisation reviews.
• Support safety-critical roles, including ambulance service staff.
• Contribute to delivery of services for external commercial clients.
• Maintain accurate, confidential clinical records using electronic systems.
• Work collaboratively with the wider multidisciplinary team to deliver an effective service.
