Job summary

Wye Valley NHS Trust in the West Midlands is seeking a highly specialist clinical physiologist to lead neurophysiology investigations across outpatient, inpatient, and emergency settings, including neonates.

You will report to the Clinical Service Manager and will plan and perform EEGs and nerve conduction studies, interpret results, and advise clinicians with autonomous practice; registration with RCCP or HCPC is required.

Qualifications

• Post-qualification experience in neurophysiology and advanced investigations.
• Ability to work autonomously and report complex results.
• Experience of supervising colleagues is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Plan, perform, analyse and interpret neurophysiology investigations independently.
• Provide upper and lower limb nerve conduction studies.
• Perform routine and specialised EEGs in adults and children in ITU/SCBU etc.
• Undertake specialised EEGs including sleep-deprived EEGs.
• Perform visual evoked responses and pattern electroretinograms.
• Run carpal tunnel and ulnar nerve function clinics.
• Carry out prolonged ambulatory EEG studies (24–72 h).
• Report findings accurately; advise clinicians with professional judgement.
