Job summary

Pure Physio is seeking a First Contact Physiotherapist based in Bristol for a permanent role. You will assess, diagnose and manage MSK conditions at first contact within primary care settings, reducing GP workload and enabling faster access to specialist care.

Applicants should have a BSc or MSc in Physiotherapy with Advanced MSK training and be able to work autonomously, order investigations when needed, and collaborate with primary care networks to deliver integrated services.

Qualifications

• BSc or MSc in Physiotherapy is required.
• Advanced MSK training aligned with national FCP/Advanced Practice Roadmap.
• Ability to work autonomously and manage MSK cases.

Responsibilities

• Assess and diagnose MSK conditions at first contact.
• Provide expert advice on pain management, mobility and recovery.
• Recommend treatment or onward referral to specialists.
• Order investigations (X-rays, blood tests) when appropriate.
• Reduce GP workload by managing MSK cases directly.
• Handle complex MSK presentations when needed.
• Support patients with multimorbidities (CVD, diabetes, frailty, mental health).
• Provide advanced rehabilitation planning.
• Reduce unnecessary referrals to secondary care.
