Job summary

Locum Ready is seeking an experienced Advanced Clinical Practitioner to work in a GP practice in Peterlee. The role suits clinicians from nursing, paramedic, or allied health backgrounds who can perform autonomous assessments and safe decision-making within a structured primary care environment.

You will join a multidisciplinary team, run your own clinics, and support both urgent and routine patient demand with flexible sessions up to 4 days per week.

Qualifications

• Advanced Clinical Practitioner qualification (Level 7/Postgraduate) required.
• Background from Nursing, Paramedic Science, Physiotherapy or similar preferred.
• Independent Prescribing qualification (V300 or equivalent) preferred.
• Recent experience in primary care, urgent care or UTC settings.
• Confident autonomous clinician with strong decision-making skills.

Responsibilities

• Conducting acute and same-day access clinics.
• Autonomous assessment, diagnosis and management of undifferentiated presentations.
• Telephone triage and clinical streaming.
• Ordering and interpreting investigations.
• Prescribing safely within scope (where qualified).
• Managing follow-up actions, results and referral workflows.
• Documenting clearly using the practice clinical system.
