Job summary

Market Cross Surgery is seeking a six-month locum GP to work autonomously within a busy general practice serving its local community.

The GP will manage long-term conditions, prescribe in line with NICE guidelines, and participate in telephone triage, on-call rotas, and occasional home visits. Full GMC registration and National Performers List entry are required, with CCT/JCPTGP or equivalent qualification.

Qualifications

• Full GMC registration
• MRCGP or JCPTGP/CCT
• National Performers List registration

Responsibilities

• Assess patients and plan care, refer as needed
• Manage complex, urgent and emergency presentations
• Review long-term conditions and medications per NICE guidelines
• Prescribe generically per guidance
• Undertake telephone triage and on-call duties
• Attend home visits and after-hours work as agreed
• Process referrals and prescriptions promptly
• Maintain accurate clinical records
• Support healthy lifestyles and self-care
• Mentor and supervise other staff
• Participate in governance, audits and training
• Follow safeguarding policies and complete revalidation
