Job summary

County Surgery in Northampton seeks a Locum GP to work autonomously, delivering high quality primary care within the practice team. You will provide clinical care under the primary care contract, maintain records, and support the multidisciplinary team.

You must meet UK GMC registration and have MRCGP or JCPTGP/CCT, be on National Performers List, and participate in teaching, mentoring, and out-of-hours duties as required.

Qualifications

• Autonomous practitioner delivering clinical care within a primary care contract.
• Adheres to GMC standards and maintains patient safety and governance.
• Leads by example and mentors other team members.

Responsibilities

• Work as agreed with practice timetable and deliver effective medical care.
• Examine and assess patient needs, referring appropriately.
• Prescribe in line with local and national guidance.
• Manage long-term conditions and promote healthy lifestyles.
• Maintain accurate clinical records and complete administrative tasks.
• Participate in telephone triage and duty doctor duties on rotation.
• Contribute to practice governance, training, and continuous improvement.
