Job summary

SYOS in Fareham designs and manufactures autonomous vehicle systems. We are seeking an Engine Technician to support the assembly, installation, configuration and testing of engine systems and related equipment for our unmanned vehicles.

In this hands-on role you will assemble engines and fuel systems, install and configure engine control units (ECUs), perform acceptance testing and troubleshoot issues to ensure compliance with engineering specs and quality standards.

Qualifications

• Experience in aerospace or industrial manufacturing.
• Hands-on engine assembly, integration and testing in a controlled production environment.
• Ability to read engineering drawings and technical specifications.
• Familiarity with ISO 9001 and QA processes.
• Experience installing, configuring or troubleshooting ECUs and interfaces.
• Strong troubleshooting and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Engine assembly and installation according to approved drawings, work instructions and specs.
• ECU configuration and integration, verify interfaces and troubleshoot faults.
• Testing and fault diagnosis, record results and escalate issues as needed.
• Quality and documentation, maintain build, inspection and test records.
• Cross-functional collaboration with Production, Engineering, Software and QA teams.
• Safety and compliance, follow HSE requirements and use approved tooling.
• Continuous improvement using Lean principles (5S, Kaizen) to improve workflows.
