Job summary

NHS Highland is recruiting a Band 6 Community Midwife for the Mid Argyll locality, Lochgilphead. The post offers a permanent contract with a 36-hour week. You will provide antenatal, intrapartum and postnatal care, supporting women’s birth choices within a community midwifery model.

The team works autonomously with consultant support from GG&C, and there is an on-call component for birth-related emergencies. Driving licence is essential for the role.

Qualifications

• Band 6 Community Midwife post in Mid Argyll locality.
• Provide direct antenatal, intrapartum and postnatal care to women and families.
• Driving licence is essential.
• Midwife practices autonomously with support from GG&C consultants.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct antenatal, intrapartum and postnatal care to women and their families within the Mid Argyll locality.
• Support women in choosing the place of birth.
• Practice autonomously with on-call support for emergencies.
• Participate in training and development via the Service level Agreement with GG&C.
