Job summary

Cambridgeshire Community Services NHS Trust is seeking an enthusiastic Occupational Therapy Assistant to support children and young people within the Community Occupational Therapy Service. The post involves working as part of a Children’s OT team across clinics, patients’ homes, schools and pre-school settings.

The candidate should have a minimum of two years’ experience as a Children’s Therapy assistant and knowledge of equipment provision.

Qualifications

• Minimum of two years’ experience working as a Children’s Therapy assistant.
• Knowledge of equipment provision.
• Autonomous practitioner within Occupational Therapy service.
• Ability to work with multidisciplinary teams across clinics, patients’ homes, schools and pre-school settings.

Responsibilities

• Assist with assessments and treatment for children and young people.
• Undertake own caseload and accept patients referred by Occupational Therapists.
• Report patient progress and escalate issues to Therapists as needed.
• Conduct assessments, treatment and discharge planning under supervision.
• Attend targeted training and supervision as part of professional development.
