Job summary

East of England Community Health and Care NHS Trust is seeking a Children’s Occupational Therapy Assistant Practitioner to support assessment and treatment for children and young people in the community. The post is based at Princess of Wales Hospital, Ely, with travel across the county; requires a minimum of two years' experience in Children's Therapy and the ability to work autonomously within the MDT.

Qualifications

• Minimum of two years’ experience working as a Children’s Therapy assistant.
• Knowledge of equipment provision.
• Good communication, organisation and time management skills.
• Ability to work as an autonomous practitioner within an MDT.

Responsibilities

• Undertake assessments, treatment and discharge planning for children under supervision of the Occupational Therapist.
• Accept patients referred by the Occupational Therapist and manage own caseload.
• Work within multidisciplinary teams across clinics, patients’ homes, schools and pre-school sites.
• Maintain accurate written and electronic records and monthly statistics.
