Job summary

Hitchin-based independent workshop is seeking an experienced Vehicle Technician / Car Mechanic to join a growing team. You’ll carry out servicing, diagnostics, and repairs across a wide range of vehicles, with autonomy in your own bay and opportunities to advance.

The role offers £35,000–£40,000 per year, five-day weeks with occasional Saturday mornings, and perks including free ramp access for personal vehicles, a performance bonus scheme, and a stable long-term career path.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of professional workshop experience.
• Strong mechanical diagnostic capabilities.
• Independent problem-solving mindset.
• Valid full UK Driving Licence.

Responsibilities

• Carrying out routine servicing, preventative maintenance, and detailed health checks across a wide variety of vehicle makes and models.
• Utilizing modern diagnostic software to efficiently trace and resolve mechanical and electrical faults.
• Performing major mechanical repairs, including brake systems, suspension overhauls, and core engine work.
