Job summary

Halfords Autocentres is offering an apprenticeship for aspiring Vehicle Technicians in Northumberland. You will rotate through servicing, inspections, repairs and diagnostics while learning hands‑on skills and theory.

You must have GCSEs in Maths and English and show enthusiasm for cars, problem solving, and teamwork. The role combines workshop duties with college study, with a supported pathway into a skilled technician career.

Qualifications

• GCSEs in Maths and English at Grade C or above (Or Equivalents).
• Friendly, helpful and team‑oriented; eager to build a career as an Auto Vehicle Technician.
• Interest in cars and solving problems.
• Able to use hands and maintain a strong, fit attitude for manual work.
• Knowledge of motor vehicle maintenance.
• Enjoys working and fixing problems with cars.
• Knowledge of Microsoft packages.

Responsibilities

• Work on a range of vehicles for servicing, inspections and repairs.
• Diagnose faults using diagnostic methods and equipment.
• Learn workplace safety and engineering skills during the apprenticeship.
• Gain knowledge from college lecturers and mentors to reach high standards.
• Contribute as part of a workshop team while understanding commercial workshop operations.
