Job summary

Gordon Murray Automotive is seeking a Production Planner to manage the detailed production schedule and build sequence, ensuring shop orders and release instructions are accurate and delivered on time.

You will monitor build progress, respond quickly to disruption, and work with Material Planning and management to secure parts availability. The role requires analytical rigor, calm under pressure and a proactive approach to continuous improvement.

Qualifications

Experienced production planning/scheduling professional in fast-paced manufacturing.
Strong understanding of MRP, capacity planning and build sequencing.
Confident ERP/MRP planning system user and Excel proficient.
Analytical and numerical with excellent attention to detail.

Responsibilities

Maintain the detailed production schedule and build sequence; release shop orders and build instructions on time.
Confirm build readiness based on parts, capacity and labour.
Monitor progress and re-sequence to manage disruption.
Collaborate with Material Planners to ensure parts availability ahead of each build slot.
Communicate the plan, changes and risks to Production, Material Planning and management.
Log build-to-plan misses and support root-cause resolution.
Maintain planning data in the ERP/MRP system.
Present 24–72 hour build risks at the daily tier review.
Monitor schedule adherence and plan stability for improvement opportunities.
Work across functions to resolve planning issues quickly.
