Job summary

TipTopJob is seeking a Paint Development Technician near Daventry to lead automotive colour development. You will create, match, and refine colours across finishes, supporting multiple departments with bespoke colour solutions and high-quality finishes.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years in colour development, strong colour theory knowledge, and experience with industry colour software. This is a hands-on, on-site role with opportunities across a modern facility.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of hands-on colour development experience.
• Strong knowledge of colour theory, tinting, and formulation in automotive paints.
• Experience with colour matching software.
• Ability to work across departments and align with global guidelines.
• On-site, hands-on role requiring precise colour accuracy.

Responsibilities

• Support paint development across departments; match, adjust, and develop new shades in solvent and water-based systems.
• Work with carbon fibre tints and finish samples across gloss levels.
• Resolve colour issues on-site and ensure accuracy before sign-off.
