Job summary

Group Lotus is seeking a Manufacturing Layout Engineer at our Hethel facility to create and maintain manufacturing layouts for current production and new programs. You will develop layouts using AutoCAD, assess space, flow, and equipment integration, and work with cross‑functional teams to ensure accurate as‑built documentation.

The role is a 6‑month fixed‑term contract, on‑site in Hethel, with potential extension.

Qualifications

• HNC / HND / Degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Automotive, Design Engineering or related field.
• Strong AutoCAD experience, especially 2D drafting and layout development.
• Experience creating and maintaining engineering layouts.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specs.
• Knowledge of CAD standards and revision control.
• Site survey ability and translating measurements to CAD drawings.
• Understanding of manufacturing environments and processes.
• Detail-oriented and proactive team player.

Responsibilities

• Create, modify and maintain manufacturing facility layouts using AutoCAD.
• Develop layouts for production lines and facilities for current and new programs.
• Collaborate with Engineering teams to evaluate concepts.
• Support feasibility studies with alternative layout scenarios.
• Ensure layouts consider space, process flow, ergonomics and safety.
• Maintain master layouts and revision control.
• Assist with installation layouts and reflect changes during execution.
