Job summary

Wigan & Leigh College is seeking an experienced Motor Vehicle Engineering Lecturer to teach across practical and theory-based programmes. You will help learners build technical knowledge, workshop skills and professional behaviours, using your industry experience to keep learning current and relevant.

The role focuses on Level 1 and Level 2 provision, with opportunities to contribute to curriculum development in electric and hybrid vehicle technologies.

Qualifications

• Enhanced DBS check required; safeguarding commitment.
• Level 2 English and maths to be achieved if not already.
• Ability to work across college sites and support college activities.

Responsibilities

• Teach Motor Vehicle Engineering across practical and theory-based programmes.
• Deliver learning at Level 1 and Level 2.
• Help students build technical knowledge, workshop skills and professional behaviours.
• Use industry experience to keep learning current and relevant.
• Demonstrate safe and effective use of tools and workshop processes.
• Promote high standards of health, safety and conduct.
• Assess learner progress and provide constructive feedback.
• Maintain accurate attendance, assessment, progress and achievement records.
• Support learners to progress to further study, apprenticeships or employment.
• Contribute to curriculum development including electric and hybrid technologies.
