Job summary

Proactive Global is seeking a Maintenance Technician for a fully automated warehouse in Ipswich. You will maintain, repair and support automated material handling equipment, including conveyors, lifters, cranes and monorail systems.

The role requires fault-finding across mechanical, electrical and electronic systems, plus carrying out planned servicing and preventative maintenance to keep the system running safely and efficiently. You will work on height and in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Experience working with automated systems or material handling equipment.
• Ability to read mechanical, electrical and electronic drawings and manuals.
• Good IT skills and CMMS experience for maintenance scheduling and fault logging.

Responsibilities

• Carry out planned servicing and maintenance of automated material handling equipment.
• Complete scheduled repairs per manufacturer recommendations and industry practices.
• Respond to and prioritise system faults to minimise downtime.
• Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) activities.
• Fault-find and diagnose issues across mechanical, electrical and electronic systems.
• Maintain accurate records of maintenance and repair work.
• Support efficient flow of products by coordinating maintenance activities.
• Identify opportunities for continuous improvement and contribute to site improvements.
• Monitor on-site spare parts and maintain stock levels.
• Follow Health & Safety, quality and company procedures.
• Maintain professional relationships with customers and site stakeholders.
• Ensure work meets customer requirements and service levels.

Education

Time-served engineering apprenticeship

NVQ Level 3 / City & Guilds in engineering

ONC/HNC in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering advantageous
