Job summary

SC Engineering is seeking a Test Technician to join their Essex-based team. You will perform FAT, SAT and functional testing on bespoke automation machinery, ensuring systems meet specification before handover.

The role involves hands-on testing, fault finding and collaboration with Automation and Engineering teams. Applicants should have an engineering qualification and experience testing automated machinery; travel to customer sites in the UK and internationally is required.

Qualifications

• Formal engineering qualification required.
• Experience testing automated machinery or production equipment.
• Basic understanding of PLCs, HMIs and automation systems.
• Knowledge of Profinet and EtherNet/IP.
• Familiarity with vision or weighing systems is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Execute FAT and SAT on automated machinery.
• Perform functional testing per test procedures and specs.
• Troubleshoot PLCs, HMIs and networks.
• Document faults and test results accurately.
• Support actioning corrective actions with teams.
• Produce detailed test reports.
