Job summary

Harvey Nash Group in Leeds is seeking an Automation Test Engineer to join a collaborative technology team. You will combine hands-on automation testing with thorough manual testing to ensure reliability, performance and user experience across web and mobile platforms.

Role requires commercial experience testing web and mobile apps, using Playwright and Appium. We offer hybrid working, a competitive salary and a comprehensive benefits package, with ongoing training and career development

Are you a detail-oriented Automation Test Engineer with a passion for delivering high-quality software?

We're looking for a talented testing professional to join a collaborative technology team, helping to ensure the reliability, performance and user experience of critical digital platforms across both web and mobile environments.

You'll play a key role in the software development lifecycle, combining hands-on automation testing with thorough manual testing to maintain exceptional product quality. This role requires strong commercial experience testing both web and mobile applications, using modern automation tools including Playwright and Appium.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, maintain and execute automated test frameworks and scripts for web and mobile applications.
• Design and execute functional, regression, integration and end-to-end test scenarios.
• Collaborate with developers, business analysts and product teams to identify, troubleshoot and resolve issues.
• Support quality assurance activities throughout the software development lifecycle.
• Champion testing best practices, automation-first approaches and continuous improvement initiatives.

Skills & Experience

• Commercial experience in automation testing.
• Proven hands-on experience with Playwright for web test automation.
• Proven hands-on experience with Appium for mobile test automation across iOS and Android platforms.
• Demonstrable experience testing both web and mobile applications in a commercial environment.
• Experience building and maintaining automated test frameworks.
• Understanding of Agile delivery methodologies and CI/CD environments.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving and communication skills.
