Job summary

Proactive Global is seeking a hands-on Service Engineer to join the team in Cambridgeshire. The role involves on-site servicing and maintenance of bespoke machinery and automated systems, with time spent in the workshop for assembly and testing.

Candidates should have practical electrical and mechanical experience, strong fault-finding skills, and the ability to read technical drawings. Robotic/automation exposure and PLC experience are desirable.

Qualifications

• Experience with electrical and mechanical systems in service/maintenance environments.
• Strong fault-finding and troubleshooting skills.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and wiring diagrams.
• Willingness to travel to customer sites.
• Experience with robotics or automated systems.
• Desirable: 18th Edition Wiring Regulations.
• Experience with PLCs including fault finding or programming.
• Experience servicing, assembling or commissioning bespoke machinery.

Responsibilities

• Travel to customer sites to service, maintain, fault find and repair bespoke machinery.
• Diagnose electrical and mechanical faults and implement solutions to minimise downtime.
• Assemble machinery and equipment at company premises when not on-site.
• Assist with installation, commissioning and servicing of machinery and automation equipment.
• Work independently on customer sites with focus on safety, quality and service.
• Support reliable operation and performance of equipment through maintenance and repair.
