Job summary

Proactive Global is seeking a versatile Service & Maintenance Engineer based in Huntingdon to join our team. The role combines workshop assembly with field service across bespoke machinery and automation systems, including on-site commissioning and repairs.

Qualifications

• Proven hands-on experience in both mechanical fitting and electrical troubleshooting/assembly.
• Strong diagnostic skills with ability to read mechanical drawings and electrical schematics.
• Comfortable working with bespoke, custom-built machinery rather than standard lines.
• Willingness to travel to various site locations; valid UK driving license required.

Responsibilities

• Travel to customer sites to perform maintenance, repairs, and diagnostics on bespoke systems.
• Build, wire, and assemble custom machinery and sub-assemblies in the workshop when not on-site.
• Diagnose and repair complex electrical and mechanical faults to minimize downtime.
• Represent the company professionally on-site and provide clear client updates.
• Complete service reports, maintenance logs, and commissioning checklists accurately.
