Job summary

VIQU IT is seeking an SC Cleared Automation / Platform Engineer for a 6-month hybrid contract in the United Kingdom. You will upgrade enterprise applications across the estate, support future upgrades, and focus on automation and modern platform practices.

The role emphasizes standardising upgrades, driving automation, and delivering smooth production operations while aligning with growth strategy.

Qualifications

• Strong experience administering enterprise applications on both Windows and Linux.
• Experience delivering application and platform upgrades in production environments.
• Experience with scripting and automation using PowerShell, Bash, Python or similar tools.
• Experience with configuration management tools such as Ansible.
• Experience with application servers, middleware and databases.
• Strong troubleshooting and root cause analysis skills.

Responsibilities

• Plan, coordinate and deliver application upgrades, migrations and platform refresh activities.
• Ensure applications remain compliant with vendor support and security requirements.
• Administer applications deployed across Windows and Linux environments.
• Troubleshoot application, middleware and infrastructure issues.
• Maintain operational documentation and runbooks.
• Identify opportunities to automate manual operational processes.
• Develop automation using PowerShell, Bash, Python, Ansible or similar tools.
• Build and maintain CI/CD deployment pipelines.
• Promote IAC along with DevOps best practices.
