Job summary

Proactive Global in the Nottingham area is seeking an Engineering Technician to maintain and troubleshoot automated systems, respond to faults and support continuous improvement. The role focuses on machinery, electrical systems and automation within a customer-focused engineering environment.

The successful candidate will perform reactive fault responses, preventative maintenance and collaborate with engineers and team leaders to ensure reliability and efficiency of automated equipment.

Qualifications

• Relevant experience in machinery, maintenance, electrical engineering or an automation environment.
• Minimum Level 2 Engineering qualification and/or significant automation experience.
• Experience with fault finding and problem solving.
• Understanding of preventative maintenance / PPM schedules.
• Willingness to work at height.
• Ability to work independently and in a team.

Responsibilities

• Respond promptly to reactive faults and carry out preventative maintenance checks.
• Diagnose, investigate and rectify equipment faults where possible.
• Escalate complex issues to the engineering team or external support.
• Maintain automated warehouse and warehouse management systems to a high standard.
• Monitor equipment performance to minimise disruption and downtime.
• Carry out equipment servicing per manufacturer recommendations and standards.
• Identify repeated faults and communicate findings to management.
• Support continuous improvement to enhance equipment reliability.
