GXO is launching a new automated distribution site in Burnley and seeks an Engineering Team Manager to lead maintenance across a highly automated operation. You will develop and motivate engineering teams to deliver exceptional reliability, safety and performance.

In this role you will manage resources, drive maintenance delivery, monitor KPIs and support continuous improvement initiatives, all while maintaining a safety-first culture on a 4 on/4 off rotating shift.

Can you build, develop and motivate engineering teams to deliver exceptional equipment reliability, safety and operational performance?

Exciting things are happening at GXO! We're delighted to announce the expansion of Fashion & Apparel operations with the launch of our newest distribution site in Burnley (BB10). Following significant investment, this site is being brought back to life and will become a key part of our growing UK network.

As an Engineering Team Manager, you'll be responsible for leading the day-to-day delivery of maintenance activities across a highly automated operation. You'll manage engineering resources, drive equipment reliability, support continuous improvement initiatives and ensure engineering teams are equipped to deliver exceptional performance.

This is a unique opportunity to join one of GXO's most exciting site launches, leading engineering teams within a state-of-the-art automation environment featuring conveyors, sortation systems, garment handling equipment and advanced material handling technology.

This is a full time, permanent position working a 4 on and 4 off, rotating shift pattern

We're looking to offer a salary of up to £63,000.00 per annum, and 23.5 days annual leave (inclusive of bank holidays). What you'll do on a typical day:

• Lead, coach and develop engineering teams, creating a strong safety-first and performance-focused culture
• Coordinate preventative and reactive maintenance activities to maximise equipment uptime and operational performance
• Manage engineering resources, labour planning and shift coverage to support business requirements
• Monitor maintenance KPIs, equipment reliability and compliance activities, driving continuous improvement where required
• Support major breakdown investigations, root cause analysis and the implementation of long-term solutions

What you need to succeed at GXO:

• Previous experience leading engineering or maintenance teams within an automated or fast-paced operational environment
• Strong electrical and mechanical engineering knowledge with experience managing maintenance activities
• Experience with resource planning, performance management and team development
• Working knowledge of CMMS systems and maintenance planning processes
• A proactive leadership style with a passion for safety, operational excellence and continuous improvement
