Job summary

Fastems in the Midlands seeks a hands-on field service engineer to troubleshoot and maintain their flexible manufacturing systems. You’ll travel to customer sites across the UK to keep automation running at peak performance.

You’ll work with electronics, mechanics, PLCs, robotics, and software on Beckhoff/Siemens PLCs, Fanuc robots, and Windows systems. A full UK driving license and willingness to travel are essential.

Qualifications

• Background in service or maintenance
• Electro-mechanical fault-finding skills
• Ideally experienced with PLCs (Siemens/Beckhoff), CNC machines, robotics, or automated manufacturing systems
• Comfortable with software and Windows-based systems
• Determination, initiative, and a hands-on attitude
• A full UK driving license
• High flexibility to travel to customers across the UK & internationally (Mo-Fr)

Responsibilities

• Troubleshooting and repair in electronics, mechanics, I/O, drive technology, PLC (Beckhoff/ Siemens), software, and computers on our flexible manufacturing systems.
• Maintenance and servicing of flexible manufacturing systems and robot solutions (Fanuc).
• Modifications, enhancements, and commissioning of flexible manufacturing systems.
• Support the installation of new automation equipment
• Assess complex technical requirements and advise customers on solutions
