Job summary

Sopra Steria Ltd is seeking an Automation Engineer for Gloucester, working in a Defence environment to shape best-in-class endpoint platforms. This role emphasizes automated testing, secure-by-design principles, and modern engineering practices, with on-site work in Gloucester and an eDV clearance requirement.

You’ll join a collaborative Endpoint Engineering team delivering OS, endpoint tech, and print/scan services, focusing on automation, CI/CD, and efficient platform management.

Qualifications

• Proven experience with Microsoft Configuration Management technologies (SCCM, SCOM, SCORCH).
• Knowledge of anti-malware technologies.
• Experience with thin client and VDI solutions.
• Understanding of user profile/access management and vulnerability management.
• Advanced Windows 11 and Windows Server 2025 experience and Agile delivery exposure.

Responsibilities

• Deliver endpoint engineering activities including hardware and software evaluation, integration, deployment, testing and platform administration.
• Produce clear technical documentation to support proposals, implementation and operations.
• Provide third-line support and resolve incidents within SLAs using Jira and Agile methods.
• Develop and implement automation solutions using PowerShell, Python and Ansible.
• Design and maintain automated build, test and deployment pipelines aligned with CI/CD.
