Job summary
The Hut Group's Brighter Foods in Tywyn, Wales, is seeking an Automation Engineer. This full-time role runs on weekdays, from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, focusing on the design, programming, and testing of automated machinery to maximise uptime and performance.
You will troubleshoot, optimise, and integrate equipment with PLC systems (Allen Bradley/Siemens), collaborate with OEMs, support the engineering team, ensure safety standards, and drive continuous improvement in production efficiency.
Qualifications
- Degree in Engineering, Automation, Electrical Engineering or related field
- Proven experience with automated machinery in FMCG/manufacturing
- Experience programming PLCs (Allen Bradley or Siemens)
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
Responsibilities
- Maintain and optimise automated machinery to maximise uptime and efficiency
- Troubleshoot and repair automation and electrical systems
- Design custom automation solutions to improve production performance
- Program and integrate new equipment into existing control systems
- Collaborate with OEMs and suppliers to enhance automation processes
- Provide technical guidance and training to the engineering team
- Ensure compliance with safety and regulatory standards
- Perform diagnostics on PLC and electrical systems to resolve issues
