Job summary

Reed Recruitment is seeking an Automation Engineer in Cardiff to support PLC, robotics and vision systems within a fast-paced manufacturing environment. You will drive automation improvements, support capital projects and reduce downtime to enhance OEE.

Key responsibilities include PLC programming, troubleshooting and data integration across SCADA/MES systems, with a focus on driv­ing up equipment effectiveness and reliability.

Reed Recruitment are working with a leading manufacturing site who recruiting for an experienced Automation Engineer to support and develop PLC, robotics, vision, and control systems within a fast-paced manufacturing environment. You'll drive automation improvements, support capital projects, reduce downtime, and enhance overall equipment effectiveness (OEE).

• Allen Bradley ControlLogix & CompactLogix PLCs
• Siemens, Omron & Mitsubishi PLCs
• ABB, Fanuc & Mitsubishi robotics
• Keyence vision and automated inspection systems
• SCADA/MES integration and manufacturing data systems
• PLC programming, troubleshooting and optimisation
• Root cause analysis and fault finding in automated environments
• PLC, HMI and robot backup/version control management
