Job summary

Hunter Selection Ltd, recruiting on behalf of a specialist automation engineering company, seeks an Automation Engineer to deliver PLC, SCADA and HMI solutions from concept through commissioning. Based in Newport, you will join a growing team delivering projects across the UK and Ireland, with travel required and a salary up to £65,000 plus a 20% annual bonus.

Qualifications

• Experience with PLC programming in a manufacturing environment.
• Siemens, Mitsubishi and Allen Bradley PLC experience (essential for experienced candidates).
• Knowledge of liquid processing systems, pumps, valves and instrumentation.
• Electrical or Electronic Engineering apprenticeship, HNC/HND or degree desirable.
• Ability and willingness to travel to customer sites across the UK and Ireland.
• Junior candidates with PLC experience will be considered and provided with full training.

Responsibilities

• Develop and modify PLC software for automated process control systems.
• Design and configure HMI and SCADA applications.
• Deliver automation projects through all phases from design to commissioning.
• Attend customer sites across the UK and Ireland for commissioning and start-up support.
• Work closely with customers and project teams to ensure successful project delivery.
