Job summary

Boehringer Ingelheim GmbH is seeking an Automation Engineer to maintain and improve site automation technologies, including production equipment and building management systems, on a fixed-term contract until 31 December 2027.

You will work hands-on with PLCs, HMI/SCADA and control systems, support project delivery and audits, and ensure compliance with regulatory standards while contributing to site development.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience with industrial automation systems (PLCs, HMI/SCADA).
• Knowledge of low voltage control systems and fieldbus networking.
• Experience in pharmaceutical or highly regulated environments.
• Familiarity with GAMP5 methodology and lifecycle management.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and troubleshoot automation systems to ensure reliability and minimize downtime.
• Design, programming and implementation of control systems for projects, meeting scope, timelines and budgets.
• Lead or contribute to automation projects and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Ensure systems operate in a compliant manner by following internal procedures and regulatory requirements and supporting audits.
