Job summary

Energy Jobline ZR is seeking an Automation Engineer to join our brand-new site for a major client. You will provide hands-on electrical and mechanical maintenance, ensuring automated systems operate safely and efficiently, with a focus on conveyors and other automated equipment.

You'll work a rotating shift pattern (0600–1400 and 1400–2200) as part of a 16 x 5 x 365 operation, collaborate with Site Managers and Field Service teams, and contribute to continuous improvement and downtime reduction.

Qualifications

  • Engineering qualification: NVQ, BTech, C&G, HNC/ONC.
  • Proven experience in logistics automation or similar environments.
  • Strong understanding of Health & Safety standards.
  • Full UK driving licence.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver high-quality engineering support across automated systems and conveyors.
  • Ensure safe and efficient operations, following Health & Safety protocols.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives with the CI Manager.
  • Collaborate with Site Managers and Field Service teams to solve technical challenges.
  • Maintain equipment, diagnose faults, and keep downtime to a minimum.
  • Maintaining and supporting electrical/mechanical systems.
  • Resetting equipment errors and supporting operational performance.

We are looking for an Automation Engineer to join us at our brand-new site for one of our largest clients. As an Automation Engineer, where you'll play a key role in maintaining and supporting advanced automated systems. You'll provide hands‑on electrical and mechanical maintenance, ensuring equipment operates reliably, safely, and efficiently to meet the site's operational performance targets. You will work a rotating shift pattern (0600–1400 & 1400–2200), covering 16 x 5 x 365 operations, so flexibility is key.
