Job summary

Line Up Aviation is seeking an Automation Engineer to deploy, commission and support automated machinery for aircraft wing assembly. The role involves developing automated processes, specifying new equipment and managing automation projects to deliver efficient, safe production.

Candidates should have an engineering degree and hands-on automation/robotics experience, with strong data analysis skills and excellent stakeholder communication.

Qualifications

  • Degree-level qualification in Engineering.
  • Experience in automation and/or robotics.
  • Knowledge of production processes used in Broughton.
  • Knowledge of REACH legislation.
  • Project management skills.
  • Proficient digital and data analysis skills.

Responsibilities

  • Deploy, commission and provide ongoing support for automated machinery in aircraft wing assembly.
  • Develop and optimise automated assembly processes (drilling, fastening, routing and milling).
  • Define and specify new automated machinery to meet production and quality needs.
  • Support the implementation of new automated technologies and processes.
  • Manage automation projects from concept to handover.
  • Provide technical support and troubleshooting for existing equipment.
  • Work with automation technologies including robots, CNC milling, cobots.
  • Collaborate with engineering, manufacturing and production teams to improve efficiency and reliability.
  • Ensure equipment and processes meet safety, quality and production requirements.
