Controls & Automation Engineer

Location: Deeside

Salary: Negotiable + 26 days holiday + pension + benefits

Hours: Mon – Friday, daytime

A genuinely superb & quite unique opportunity for a controls and automation engineer to join a market-leading business to help set up and shape a department.

The Job:

• Oversee the operation, maintenance, and development of the control systems (including control panels, Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs), Human Machine Interfaces (HMIs)).
• Assist in setting up the plant/factory, including installation and commissioning of new machinery and equipment.
• Manage and maintain the plant control systems and automation (DCS, QCS).
• Program PLCs and HMIs.
• Support and advise on projects.
• Implement software changes.
• Provide training to the maintenance engineering team on control systems.

The Person:

• Experience with controls and automation within an industrial plant or manufacturing environment, e.g., materials manufacturing, paper, steel, metals, glass, recycling, or similar sectors.
• Proficiency in HMI & PLC programming, preferably with Siemens, Allen-Bradley, Mitsubishi.
• Strong communication, stakeholder engagement, and collaboration skills are important.
