Job summary

Jobtailor in the United Kingdom seeks a QA Automation Engineer to collaborate within agile sprint teams. You'll contribute to test strategy, automate tests, and ensure quality across multiple disciplines.

You'll write robust Acceptance Criteria, participate in ceremonies, and help ensure stories meet the definition of ready and done. Proficiency with Java, JavaScript, TypeScript, C#, Selenium, Playwright, Cypress, and API testing with SoapUI or Postman is expected.

Qualifications

• Experience working on an Agile sprint team in Scrum, Kanban, or Safe.
• Ability to participate in stand-ups, planning, retrospectives, and backlog elaboration.
• Proficient with Jira or Octane backlog management and test case tools.
• Strong coding skills for automated tests in Java, JavaScript, TypeScript, or C#.

Responsibilities

• Work as an individual collaborator on sprint teams across multiple disciplines
• Actively participate in sprint ceremonies; sharing updates and blockers, estimating and committing
• Ensure user stories are captured in accordance with your team's definition of ready
• Collaborate to write Acceptance Criteria that describe business rules for quality test scenarios
• Ensure work items are only complete when they meet the team definition of done

Requirements

• Comfortable collaborating on an Agile sprint team in Scrum, Kanban, Safe
• Confident in sprint ceremonies like stand-ups, planning, retrospectives, 3-amigos and backlog elaboration
• Familiar with backlog management in Jira or Octane
• Familiar with test case management tools such as Octane or X-Ray
• Strong coding skills in implementing automated tests in Java, JavaScript, Typescript, C#
• Comfortable with Source control using GitHub
• Skilled with user interface automation with Selenium, Selenium Grid, Playwright or Cypress
• Able to implement tests against API using SoapUI, Postman
