Job summary

Volvo Financial Services, Warwick (office-based), is seeking a Software Engineer to help shape our cloud-based data ecosystem aligned with the 2030 strategy. You will drive automation across the full development lifecycle, delivering reliable tech solutions that turn complex business rules into automated processes.

Ideal candidates have strong frontend and backend experience, with Node.js, SQL and cloud platform exposure, plus a passion for process optimisation and modern software practices.

Qualifications

• Solid experience with process review, automation, backend development and frontend development.
• Strong experience with process review, automation and optimisation.
• Experience with Node.js or an equivalent backend technology, alongside strong SQL and relational database knowledge.
• Proficiency with version control and modern software development practices.
• Strong analytical skills; ability to translate complex rules into tested solutions.
• Exposure to AWS or Azure and cloud platforms for future skills development.

Responsibilities

• Lead automation initiatives from planning and design through to implementation, deployment and continuous improvement.
• Build and maintain backend services and APIs using Node.js, alongside frontend interfaces and related workflows.
• Work with SQL and PostgreSQL, including queries, schema design and data integrity.
• Translate complex business rules into accurate, tested automated solutions and data integrations.
• Use AI-assisted development tools to accelerate delivery while validating output against requirements.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to understand processes and identify automation opportunities.
