Job summary

MERITUS are recruiting a Test & Controls Engineer to join a client in Telford, delivering bespoke automation and control systems across aerospace, defence, FMCG and agriculture.

You will develop PLC software, test and commission systems, and support customers across the UK and overseas, with regular travel. Strong background in Allen Bradley and Siemens PLCs and experience with drive systems is essential.

Qualifications

• Significant experience programming Allen Bradley PLCs.
• Experience with Siemens S7/TIA Portal.
• Proven PLC software development, including ladder logic and structured programming.
• Experience with PLC and SCADA systems.
• Knowledge of EtherNet/IP, Modbus and Profibus.

Responsibilities

• Develop and modify PLC software using Allen Bradley and Siemens platforms.
• Configure industrial communications and drive systems.
• Test, commission and handover automation systems at customer sites.
• Provide on-site and remote technical support and fault diagnostics.
• Deliver customer training after project completion.
