Job summary
Meritus are recruiting for a Test & Controls Engineer to join our client in Telford that design bespoke systems solutions for Aerospace, Defence, FMCG and Agriculture.
This role involves developing PLC software, commissioning bespoke automation systems and supporting customers across the UK and overseas, with regular travel.
You'll work through the full project lifecycle from development to on-site commissioning, providing fault finding and customer training as required.
Qualifications
- Extensive experience programming Allen Bradley PLCs.
- Experience with Siemens S7 / TIA Portal.
- PLC software development including ladder logic and function blocks.
- Experience with PLC and SCADA systems.
- Knowledge of EtherNet/IP, Modbus and Profibus.
- Experience configuring drives and inverter systems.
- Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills.
- Willingness to travel UK and internationally.
Responsibilities
- Develop and modify PLC software using Allen Bradley and Siemens S7/TIA Portal.
- Configure industrial communications: EtherNet/IP, Modbus, Profibus.
- Configure drives and inverter systems.
- Develop PID control loops for process applications.
- Test and validate hardware and software prior to delivery.
- Commission new automation systems on UK and international sites.
- Provide technical support and diagnostics on site and remotely.
- Deliver customer training after project completion.
- Support robot and PLC software development.
