Job summary

EMBS is seeking a Control Systems Development Engineer for a permanent role in Leicester. You will upgrade legacy controls, program robots, and develop dashboards to improve plant performance.

The successful candidate will hold a degree in Electrical Engineering and have hands-on PLC experience with Siemens S7 and Allen-Bradley, plus skills in CAD drawings and data analytics. The role offers a stable, growth-focused environment with training.

Qualifications

• Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent hands-on experience.
• Strong experience programming Siemens S7 and Allen-Bradley PLCs.
• Proven track record upgrading legacy controls and integrating equipment.
• Proficiency with sensors and reading electrical drawings in CAD.
• Data analytics capability with dashboards.

Responsibilities

• Upgrade legacy control systems and electrical panels to modern standards.
• Program robots to automate manufacturing processes.
• Build digital machine monitoring systems and dashboards to turn shop-floor data into actionable decisions.
• Lead root cause investigations using FMEA and 5 Whys to fix underlying equipment failures.
• Design backup and bypass solutions to maintain continuous production flow.
• Shape capital projects for new equipment and set best practice standards across the site.
• Act as the key controls expert for maintenance, project, IT, and continuous improvement teams.
